Not Me Monday

This weekend, I did not feed Ryland 2 lollipops in 2 different stores back to back just so he wouldn't be loud.

I did not pick up a case of slim fasts and all six cans fall out in the middle of the aisle. I did not pick them back up, feeling like a big dork and put them back on the shelf and get a new case. And I certainly DID NOT chuckle to myself thinking about the next victim that would do the same thing.

I did not spill Ryland's gummy bears in the floor of the truck and pick them back up and put in him bowl for him to eat. Nobody saw me so that makes it okay right?

Share your Not Me stories....come on, you know you have them!!!!

Thankful Thursday

Just humor me for awhile until I get these silly titles out of my head. Who knows, this may become a weekly thing.....

I am thankful for many things but the things that come to mind are:

Jesus dying for my sins and the gift of salvation I have been given

My family and their good health

My friends and the fun times we have

Shelter, transportation, food

There are so many things I could add, but that would take up a lot. I need to be reminded of all I have been given and be thankful for it.

Leave a comment and let me know a couple of things you are thankful for. I get tired of reading my own stuff. hehe If you do leave a comment and sign in as annonymous, please type your name in the post so I know who sent it.

Happy Thankful Thursday!!!

Thoughts for Tuesday

I made this blog title up myself, hehe. I hope you enjoyed reading my NotMe Monday blog.

Today, I thought I'd share some thoughts. As a whole, I like to keep my blog pretty distant, no really deep thoughts, but today, I thought I'd blog about what I learned in Bible study this morning.

I am doing a Beth Moore study called "Stepping Up". I've really enjoyed it so far and I've gotten some good nuggets each week. Today, in the video, she talked about friends and how as a body of believers, we need to stand "shoulder to shoulder" with each other (Zeph. 3:9). As we stand shoulder to shoulder, Satan is going to want to break us apart and we CAN NOT let him. He wants to build a gap and try to destroy us. We need to encourage each other (Hebrews 10:25) and not tear one another down. I sometimes struggle with friendships b/c I feel like I give and give and don't get anything in return. But I'm learning that doesn't mean I stop giving. I think it actually humbles me more. Jesus gave and didn't expect anything in return. There was no condition, He died for me out of His love for me. Thank the Lord there were no conditions...

Beth also spoke about how people are just too busy for friends anymore. I don't ever want to be too busy for my friends. So for everyone reading this, friends and family, please know that I love you and want to continue to stand "shoulder to shoulder" with you as we continue this journey called life.....

Not Me! Monday...a day early

This is my first time doing anything like this. It's called Not Me! Mondays and it's a blog telling all the things you didn't do the week before. The idea is from a blogsite I've been following for many months. Click on the Not Me! Monday button on the right to see others who have done the same thing. It's hilarious to see what others DON'T do!

I know it's a day early, but that's ok!

1. I did not send Ryland in the other room so I could eat some of his M&M's. And when he came and asked for one, I DID NOT tell him they were all gone.

2. I do NOT hold up my hand to be able to tell the difference between right and left.

3. I did NOT agree that I tripped over a toy in the nursery just so I didn't have to admit I tripped over my own pantleg.

4. I am NOT addicted to my computer and I DON'T ever let Ryland just sit in front of the tv so I can look at some of my favorite websites.

5. I did NOT ask a lady at church when she was due and I DID not act shocked when she told me her new baby was right behind me with her husband. I DID NOT feel dumb at ALL...

6. I did not answer the door for the mailman delivering James's bike accessories in my tshirt, shorts and no bra b/c I didn't have time to put one on.....that would be embarrassing...good thing I didn't do that.

Happy Anniversary!!!!

I just want to say HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY to my husband and best friend James!!!!

I can't believe we've been married for 10 years now. We've had highs and lows, (like everyone has), but it's been a firm, solid relationship and I am so thankful for that. God has blessed us continually and I am thankful that He chose James to be my man.

Love you baby!

Can't wait to go to Outback tonight!! Whoo Whoo!!

Raise the Roof!

**Update**
It's 2:00 and the roof guys are still here. Oh well, I guess Ryland won't get a nap today. At least we'll have a new roof!

So I'm laying in bed this morning, waiting for Ryland to go back to sleep. He woke up at 5:30ish and was playing and talking in his bed. I finally gave up and drifted back to sleep around 6:30. Around 6:50, I heard a loud truck outside and thought it was the trash truck or someone turning around. It never went away and I thought, "Who could that be?" All of the sudden, I sat up...."It's the roof guys!" They called last night, but we didn't answer b/c it was an out of area phone number, so I didn't know they were coming today. Anyway, I jumped up, dressed in tshirt and shorts and headed out there b/c I knew I needed to move the truck. I didn't brush my hair or teeth, I knew I wasn't going to be out there long. I talked to the guy and moved my truck and got back inside. They were waiting on me to move the truck so they could back their trailer in the driveway. While all this is happening, guess who is asleep??? Mister "I'm gonna wake up early and play while it's quiet and sleep when it's time for the roof guys". :o)

Well, they started immediately and Ryland is just waking up at 7:45. They were right over his head and he slept through it. Crazy!!!

The headguy said they'd be done by noon! We'll see....

By the way, I did get a shower and brush my hair and teeth before I went out there a second time to open the gate.

Yay! New roof! Thank you Lord for your provision!

Have a good day!

Ryland and I went to church to run a couple of errands. Since we've not been out much, I let him play on the playground and decided to try to take some good pics. When I got home, I found a photo website that I can do all kind of effects. I am in photo heaven!!! I've put down the camera for awhile and it's been calling my name for a couple of weeks now. I love photography and have such a passion for it, but for some reason, just haven't been taking too many pics. Now, I'm back and I'm sure I'll be posting many more pictures. (For those who care to look at them) :o)

Enjoy!

This last picture is just a random pic. We were talking and I had the camera on my lap. I decided to play around and see if I could get a pic of him....he had no clue and this is a new favorite of mine!

Yard Sale

My mom held a yard sale at her house today. Lisa, Janna, Daniel and James did the yard sale. Ryland did not sleep last night and had a low fever so I stayed with him so he could sleep in. After he woke up, we went over to mom's. Ryland was acting like he felt fine. James did really well, and I think everyone else did too. It was so weird not to be the one be there. But, it was nice (hehe). I learned that James did not give in to anyone by lowering his prices. :o)

This afternoon, Ryland's fever came back after during his nap. I don't get it. I know James and my allergies are acting up right now and I think Ryland had a headache. It's the first time he kept holding his head and whining. Needless to say, Ryland won't be going to church tomorrow. I firmly believe in being safe than sorry...plus, I know I don't want to go anywhere when I don't feel good. I try very hard not to be ugly on my blog, but I can't stand it when people bring their sick little ones to church. Plus, becoming a germophobic since I had Ryland, I don't want Ryland to spread germs and I don't want him to get other kids sicknesses. Anyway....all that to say, Ryland is staying home and I hope he feels better and I hope he sleeps tonight. I held him last night for 2+ hours in the recliner while he slept. I am in need of some sleep too!

I don't blog as much as I used to. I have become a Facebook addict for the last 2 months. It's starting to get old to me now, so maybe I'll start updating more.

ADD moment.... (Attention Deficit Disorder for those who didn't know I have it)...
I am praying for those affected by Hurrican IKE. I can't believe the devastation it has caused. It's amazing how much damage was done literally overnight. We have friends in Houston and I've put a call in to check on them. I pray they are allright.

Camping

We just got back from camping yesterday. We had a good time, even though I must admit I can't wait until Ryland is a little older. He is still at the age where he doesn't understand that he can't climb on the big stuff at the playground, can't walk in the woods b/c of stickers and poison ivey, can't run around the hot grills...you get the picture. We went with 3 other families that love him very much. It's fun to see him interact with everyone. He loves them all. I meant to get more pictures but maybe another time. Here are some that I did manage to get.
