Grumpy little guy

I think Ryland's been grumpy b/c he is trying to cut his 3rd tooth...finally! It's funny b/c I still give him soft food b/c he can't chew anything yet. That hasn't stopped him from enjoying his food. Last night he ate 7 nuggets from Chick-fil-A. I couldn't believe it! I still cut everything in small pieces so that helps him too.

He is doing so much and his personality really shines. He is a mama's boy and I love it! He likes to hang on to my pant leg and walk around the house with me. He also likes for us to chase him and he "runs" from us, squealing. He's learning to chase us too.

A New Year

The New Year is almost here. James and I are probably going to bring in the New Year at home. We are going to a MOPS party earlier in the evening and then we are coming back home. It will be nice to have Ryland in bed and not out so late. Our friends that we usually spend New Year's with are going to a Football Bowl game this year. Have fun Lisa and Craig!

We enjoyed our Christmas this year. Ryland had a ball with all of his presents, thanks to grandparents! I have already taken down our tree and decorations. We put the tree up right after Thanksgiving so it's been up for a while. I am ready to get things back in order. Now, I'm trying to find a corner for Ryland's toys.

There are several things I am going to try to do different this year. I'm not calling it a New Year's Resolution, because I don't keep those.

Ryland's 12 month appt

I took Ryland for his 12 month appt. It went great. He was in a smiley mood and smiled at Dr. B when she came in the room. He is now on whole milk. No more formula!!! He still only has 2 teeth, which is so funny considering so many kids his age and younger have a mouthful of teeth. He is 20 lbs, 6 oz and 28.75 inches long. He is still in the 10-25% for kids his age. He walks up a storm and looks so funny b/c he is so small. We are getting ready to get rid of his bottle. We've already gotten rid of the mid day bottle. We've been given the ok to turn his car seat around. We may do that around the new year, we'll see.

I am so thankful for his health and the fact that he is even here. God is so Good.....

Merry CHRISTmas!!!

To all my friends and family,

I just want to wish you a Merry Christmas! Let us never get caught up in all the commercialism of Christmas, but remember to celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Blessings for a wonderful 2008!

You better watch out, you better not pout.....

Here is Ryland's first visit to see Santa Claus. He did very well until we got up close. Then he screamed like crazy. After we calmed him down, we sat him in Santa's chair. Because he couldn't see Santa, he started smiling and clowning around again. This picture shows him not to sure of Santa. We enjoyed the quick visit.

Pics of the cousins....

Scroll down to see pics of my sister's kids. They are so sweet! They have gone back to North Carolina for a couple of days and then back home to Idaho. I miss them already!

Ryland is 1 year old!!!

Ryland turned 1 yesterday. What a great day! We had a party for him at our home. There was a house full of family and friends and we had a ball. Ryland loved all the attention and it was nice that he walked around everywhere. He got all kinds of toys and some clothes. He also got a couple of duplicate toys, which was funny. I really enjoyed myself and enjoyed celebrating his special day. I know he enjoyed himself too!

Update on Ryland

Ryland woke up several times through the night. I think he was just not able to get comfortable. He seems to be fine this morning, but I am keeping him home just in case. We will miss MOPS today and I'm bummed about that. I really enjoy getting out and talking with other moms. But I want to be a good mom and keep my child from getting other kids sick. I believe in the "better safe than sorry" approach.

My ears are still feeling stopped up. That is an agrevating feeling. I really feel for babies that have constant ear infections. I'm thankful Ryland's never had one yet.

You've GOT to be kidding me....

Ryland has a fever tonight. James and I went to the store and James said, "Ryland feels hot, he has a fever". I felt his head and he felt a little warm, but I didn't think it was fever. Well, he whined through the store and when James held him, he laid his head on James's chest. That right there was proof to me that he was sick b/c he is too nosy to just lay down.

Ryland's birthday is this Saturday and we are having some family/friends over. I pray that these next couple of days will give him time to feel better. I'm not sure what the deal is.

I have a double ear infection and have been on antibiotics for 5 days now. James just got over toncilitis/strep 2 weeks ago. Ryland avoided all that and now, 3 days before his birthday, he's gonna get sick??? Please pray for him........

Ryland and his cousins

My sister has been in town for a couple of weeks visiting. It has been so good to see her and her boys. They are getting so big and Ryland loves playing with them. He thinks he is big like them. Christian is 4 and Tyler is 18 months. It's funny to see the difference in size between Tyler and Ryland. I'll post pics soon.

My "Daring" Darling

Here are a couple of pics of Ryland walking.
There are also some pics of his new trick...standing on his four wheeler. How do they know to do that? I guess it's the daredevil in him. I better keep a close watch on him.

Ryland's walking!

Yep, he's a walking machine. It has happened so fast. He walks across a room now and is so proud of himself. He still falls alot, of course, but he loves walking.

I'll post pics later...
