Family Weekend Getaway!

This past weekend, we went to Edventure and the Zoo in Columbia, SC. We had a good time and it was nice to get away for a little while.

Ryland barely spoke while we were at Edventure, a children's museum. He was so overwhelmed with all the things he could get his hands on (and not get in trouble for doing so). It's a cute museum and we'll be going back as he gets older and can do more the of the exhibits.

On Saturday, we went to the zoo. It never ceases to amaze me how we all pay money to go see animals sit, sleep, and play. Anyway, Ryland enjoyed seeing all the animals and James fed some birds with nectar. I, of course, freaked out b/c I was scared a bird was going to get me or land on my head or poop on me. I don't like birds. in case you didn't know. (Sidenote...seems the older I get, the more I don't like animals...I don't get it.)

On Sunday, we headed to Greenville to shop at the Outlet Mall. Would have been nice if we knew it opened at 1:30 BEFORE we got there at 10:30. Oh well....we headed back home and were able to get some naps in before Monday started the week all over again.

Poor little boy....

Ryland finished his antibiotics this past Sunday for his double ear infection and on Monday started saying "hurt me, hurt me" (Ryland-ese for I'm hurt) and was holding his ear. Great, I thought, so I called the dr yesterday and they said to bring him in to check his ears. Dr. B looked at them and said they were still infected really bad so she put him on another, stronger antibiotic for 10 more days. I'm glad I took him, and I hope this stronger medicine works.

This weekend James, Ryland and I are going out of town. I'm so excited b/c we haven't had a family get-away for awhile now. We are going to Columbia to Edventure and the zoo. I hope Ryland has a great time and you can be sure I'll be dosing him up with the Tylenol to help his aches and pains.

Last night, I played Bunco with some friends and had a great time. It's so much fun just to get a night "off" once a month.

That's all to update for today... Have a great day!

Yea!!! Daddy's home

James got back safe and sound on Wednesday! Ryland and I were so excited, I felt giddy. Ryland has been James's magnet since he's been home. James worked at home yesterday and is working at home today. It's been nice to be able to spend time with him and have him home with us.

Such a great Valentine's present! I'm glad he's home and we're praying that his office gets work soon so he won't have to go out of town to work on projects.

The 2 pictures are Ryland kissing and hugging James. He did this everytime we got off the webcam with James. So sweet!!!

2 more days....

James will be coming home early!!! He'll be home on Wednesday and I am so ready. Ryland is going to be so excited to see him. I did warn James not to be surprised if Ryland decides to be a stinker and not want to go to him. He can be like that sometimes...

One week left....

UPDATE*** Ryland doesn't have a cold, he has a double ear infection. No wonder he's acting like this...

One week from today, Ryland and I will be picking up our favorite guy in the whole world!!! I am so ready for my family to be whole again. James has been doing well in California but is ready to be back home!

Ryland has a cold again. This is his 3rd since New Year's. Ugh! I am so ready for him to be well again. He slept in my bed last night and it was constant coughing, a little fever and a ton of tossing and turning. I am hoping tonight will be better.

Today is my mom's birthday so I want to wish her a Happy Birthday Nonna!!!!

Week 2

We are in the middle of week 2. Ryland and I are doing good and James is busy, busy, busy. I am starting to miss him more, but I keep looking on the bright side, we're halfway there.

Since James has been gone, several days Ryland gets this picture down and sleeps with it. I think it is soooo sweet. It's a picture of James and Ryland on a friend's tractor. Ryland was 3 months old in the pic, but he knows that it's "daddy and i-i".
