Yucky ear infections!

I took Ryland to the doctor to check his ears. It's been 2 weeks since his double ear infection. Now it's only one of his ears that is infected. Poor thing! Back to Walgreens for stronger antibiotics and back to the doctor in 2-3 weeks for another recheck. Please pray that this antibiotic will clear up his ear.

Pictures

It's been awhile since I've posted some pics of Ryland. Here are a couple of pics taken this month.

For Sale

Since James and I are going to a gym now, we don't need (and haven't been using anyway) our at home gym. If you are interested or know anyone interested in buying a gym, let me know. Thanks!

Way to keep a kid happy - get a balloon!

Ryland loves balloons! We went to Red Robin today and got him a balloon when he left. Now, I'm not a balloon person, but I thought it would be a treat for him. We went to Kohl's, Babies R Us and Target and let him take the balloon inside the stores. We tied it to his stroller. He did not make a peep and behaved very well. He kept hitting the balloon on his head and the static was making his hair stand up everywhere.

James and I also took Ryland to the park today. We took the stroller (and of course, the balloon) and walked the track and then let him loose to walk around. He just smiled as he enjoyed his freedom. I even climbed on the playground with him and went down the slides. He absolutely loved it! He enjoyed the swing the best. He would get so tickled while he was swinging. I guess we'll be making weekly trips to the park.

We did buy him a swing today for our backyard. I can't wait til James puts it up and Ryland gets to swing in it.

Fun!!!!!

He's at such a good age

Ryland is 13 months old and this age is so much fun. It's fun because he actually interacts with me now. When I say "let's go get the mail", he goes to the front door, when I say "let's eat", he goes to the kitchen, when I say "let's go night-night" and "bath", he goes to the stairs. It's amazing he understands so much.

He has learned to do peek-a-boo with his hands and today, he "blew a kiss" to his monkey. How sweet!

Last night, I asked him if he was ready to go night-night and he shook his head no. James and I thought that was funny. Today I asked him if he was ready to go night-night (nap) and he shook his head and I waited about 10 minutes and asked him again and he walked right to the stairs.

Each day is something new with him and it's so exciting and fun. Except on the days that he throws a temper tandrum and tries to bite me.... Oh well, I guess it can't all be good.

Correction....

I went to the gym tonight to tackle the eliptical machine. I was determined to burn a lot of calories. I was looking at my machine and the machines around me when I realized that it shows your calories with a decimal point until it gets to 100. Sooooo......when I saw the person next to me and her machine said 900, it was really reading 90.0. I feel like a big goober. I knew there was no way she could have burned that many calories so quick. I did increase my resistance and I burned 172 calories on the machine. Yea me!

I guess that's what I get for being nosy...

Wednesday update

Ryland is doing much better, even though being sick has made him a cling-on. He does not want me to leave him in nursery at church. We had bible study Tuesday morning and he didn't last 30 min in nursery. Once I got him, he was fine. He just needed his mom and I'm alright with that.

James and I joined a gym a couple of weeks ago. I am still trying to figure out the equipment. I did figure out the more you change the resistance on the eliptical machine, the more calories you burn. I was so excited that I had burned 200 calories until I looked at the girl next to me and she had burned 900 calories in less time. Her resistance level was alot higher than mine. Next time I go, I'm going to burn a lot more, even if it kills my legs. James has done a great job with his working out, but we haven't been this past week b/c of feeling under the weather. I am ready to get back to going regularly.

Ok, Lisa..... I'm ready for my $5!!!!

He's feeling better

Ryland is doing better. His eyes are white again, no more pink eye. Thank you to everyone that has asked about him. He still is a little under the weather, but doing much better than Friday night. I am so thankful I took him to the doctor.

I think my ear is messed up again. I don't know if it's an ear infection, but I can't hear out of my left ear. That is very frustrating.... Hopefully, it will clear up soon.

James is not feeling well either. I think the weather is messing with his sinuses.

I am ready for the Hyder house to get back to feeling "normal".....whatever that is......

Have a good week!

Fussy boy = double ear infection

That's right. I took Ryland to the after hours clinic tonight and he has a double ear infection.
All the other times he wasn't feeling well, I thought it was his ears. This time, I thought it was a cold and it WAS his ears. Poor thing, I feel so bad for him. He looks miserable. I picked up meds for him tonight and hopefully, he'll start to feel better soon. I am so glad I took him. The doctor said these things can come up fast. That is what happened to him. Now I know what to look for.

I'm getting ready for a couple more long nights.....

No sleep = No happy boy

Ryland and I both have a cold or sinus issues, along with the rest of the people in our area. This weather is driving me nuts...warm, cold, warm, cold. Anyway, Ryland and I have not slept in 3 nights. He wakes up every 30-45 minutes, gets comfortable and sleeps for another 30 mins or so. Last night I spent most of the night sleeping in a sitting up position in the chair in his room.

I hope he gets to feeling better soon. He is so miserable through the night. James has offered to stay up with him tonight so I can get some sleep. Yea for my wonderful hubby!!!

Could he look a little like me???

When I posted Ryland's "before" pic in my previous post, it reminded me of a pic of myself. I think he favors me when he has longer hair. I know I'm grasping at straws here, but come on, give me a break. hehe

Ryland's haircut....again

Yep, that makes 3 times in 13 months. He did really good. Here are the before and after pics (2 day difference). He is looking so much older to me. My baby isn't such a baby anymore.....

Here comes the bumps and bruises

I know this is only the beginning, but whew!

Ryland fell and bumped his head just above his eye on Thursday night. Now he has a black eye, but it doesn't seem to bother him. I was talking to my aunt on the phone this morning and he was playing with his toy plane and it smacked him in the nose and he has a bruise on his nose. He fell in his bed this past week and has a bump on his forehead.

Updates on us...

Ryland is much better now. I think he's going through a growth spurt b/c he eats alot! He is such a ham and can be very moody at times. He is walking everywhere and loves to "chase" the dogs.

James and I joined a gym this week. James has worked out in a gym before, but I haven't. I am so intimidated by the equipment. I met with a personal trainer for a free session, but once she went over the monthly prices, I knew that wasn't going to work. So for now, I'm just gonna watch others and look like a dork reading the instructions on the machines. I did do the treadmill for the first time last night. I was very proud of myself for staying on there and not tripping. Yes, the thought crossed my mind while I was running on it and it freaked me out so I slowed back down to a walk for a little while. hehe
