Loves his sauces.....just like his Mama!

I love my sauces....ketchup, bar-b-que, honey mustard, salad dressing, you name it - I have to have it. I don't eat any beef, chicken, or pork without it! Ryland is the same way...I've created a monster. It's all ketchup to him though and he loves to dip whatever he's eating. He even wanted the salsa at a local mexican resturaunt. He liked it, even though it was a tiny amount. What can I say???? The kid's got taste....(pun intended)

To me, the best part of the video is when I say "All right" at the end and he mocks me. I think it's sweet.

Have a great week!

Just like his daddy....a social butterfly....

Ryland has been quite the social butterfly the past 2 weeks. We had our friends, Doug, Trisha and Savannah over on Saturday. They had a ball playing together. We first went to Chick-fil-A and Ryland got to play in the play area for the first time. Ugh....it makes me sad to see him growing into such a big boy. After dinner, we came home and got in the pool.

On Monday, I watched Kayla and Tyler for a little while. Ryland had a great time playing with them. Kayla is so good with him and he loved it when she chased him around the dining room table. Ryland liked wearing Ty-Ty's (as he calls him) hat.

In the last picture, that is NOT a bug on the floor. Ryland has a HUGE black stuffed horse and that thing sheds more than my dogs! Just had to clear that up.....

Update

Ryland's fish and snail are still living. He loves watching them and I can't wait until we can get the tetras. When the catfish hides in his "house", I have to carry Ryland over to find him. With the tetras, they'll be seen all the time.

James is away in Spartanburg, going on week 5. Only 3 more weeks to go. I have thoroughly enjoyed my weekends with him being home. Miss you baby!

As of right now, my brother's wedding has been postponed. The new date is in January. There are several different reasons for this and none of them make sense to me so that's why I'm going to leave it right here for now.

That's about it as far as the Hyder family. Nothing exciting going on.....

"ish" ---- Step 2

James is such a handyman.... He designed and built the shelf for Ryland's fish. He did it in one night! I am impressed!

Today, we went to a local fish store and bought a snail and albino catfish. You have to start off with a couple of fish at a time. We found out that the frog would eat the neon tetras so no frog for us. Which I am actually glad b/c we saw one frog eating another frog today at the store. That is just gross!!!

We had to let the fish and snail adjust to our water temperature so we put the bag in the tank. Here is Ryland checking it out!

Here come the "ish"

Well, we're gonna do it....we're buying Ryland some fish for his room. We've been thinking about this for about a month. We are usually impulse spenders so I wanted to make sure we really wanted to do this. So we went and got the tank last night and we're setting it up. James is putting it up on a shelf in the corner of his room. He is going to love it!
Here's the beginning of the project... Next, we'll put water in and let it set for 24 hours.... Then we'll go pick out some fish, a frog, a catfish to clean the bottom and a snail.
More to come.....

It's hot and my hair is soaked...

For those of you who don't know me well...I have been blessed with the "sweating at the least bit of movement" family gene. I am very hot natured so it doesn't take much for me to be hot. So today it's only 4:00 and I'm completely soaked for the third time...as in my hair looks like I just got out of the shower. Granted, I was just at a local indoor jumping place but still, it's so embarrassing to look like I'm dirty and sweaty.

Trisha and I decided to take the kids to Jump City. Since I have a little boy who can't climb the stairs to go up the big slide, I have to go with him and carry him up there. There were too many big kids there. We'll go again when school starts...maybe he'll be able to climb by himself in a couple of weeks. He trips me out b/c he thinks he's as big as the others. He walks all over the place like he knows what to do. He's so funny...
