We are back from camping again. I guess it's been awhile since I've posted. The previous post was about camping also.
This month has been fairly busy. James has been busy with work, I've been busy with MOPS, AWANA, being a mom and trying to figure out how to keep a clean house with a 16 month old. (Still haven't figured that one out)
Ryland is doing great! He is such a independent little boy. He loved walking around the campsite (with his harness, of course) and hanging out with the big kids. Amber, Nicole and Austin are the kids that we go camping with and they took Ryland to the swings/slide so I could get a little rest. Thanks A, N and A! He's got cuts and bumps and bruises all on his legs. I know it's the first of many, but I still don't like it!
Ryland took his first boat ride this weekend and loved it!!! He smiled and squealed and clapped. It made me want our boat back....but I'm over it now. :o)
All in all, we had a great camping weekend. The Lord protected us and we're back home safely.

We're back
Well, we are back from camping. We spent a week at the lake and I survived. Ryland started off, not so good, but by the end of the week, he did much better. We had great weather and hung out with 8 other families so Ryland had plenty of entertainment.
I have learned the motto "Never say never" and I live by it. I have eaten so many words since I became a mom. I realized that I thought I knew how to parent until I became a parent. Now, I realize that I didn't have a clue. hehe I swore I'd never buy a kid harness, but after chasing Ryland at the campgrounds and saying "no" thousands of times, I broke down and bought one. That was the best $10 investment! He did great with it and it allowed him "freedom".
Ryland is such a stinker! He is so smart and I can't let his "little" size trick me into thinking he's too young to understand things. He knows what he likes and doesn't like. He throws tantrums on a daily basis now and it doesn't matter who is around. I am trying to ignore him when he does it b/c after he's on the floor, he'll immediately turn around and look at me. Silly kid....
I guess that's all for now. Have a great week!

15 month appt
My little Ryland had his doctor's appt yesterday. He is 21.5 pounds, 30.5 inches and is still in the 25th percentile. He had to get 3 shots and I think the older he gets, the harder it is for me to watch. This time, he looked at me and shook his head "no" and said "bye-bye". He was ready to get out of there. Dr. B talked about temper tantrums and discipline and potty-training. He already has a potty chair that is in the bathroom. He has "gone" in it several times, but this week, he's stopped doing that. I have no time table and no expectations for him right now. Whatever he does, he does.
After his nap yesterday, he had several tantrums. He threw himself on the floor and would turn and look at us. We ignored him, knowing that he was just waiting for a response from us. When he didn't get that response, he gave up.
He also didn't sleep well last night so I was up from 2:00 on. I hope he sleeps tonight!
