Having fun with Daddy

Tonight, James put Ryland's bike trailer on and pulled him around in the backyard. At first, Ryland looked a little unsure, but as time went on, he looked like he really enjoyed himself. When James would stop, he would have the biggest smile. I can't wait for the weather to cool down so we can go riding. That will be fun!

My new desk!!!

I finally have my new desk! I've been using a fold up table and fold up chair as my desk until James finished building it. He did an excellent job! I am so happy with it. We found a desk in the office store, but it was not very well made so James said "I can build that" and he did. He and a friend (thanks for letting us use your shop and tools Doug) built the desk and James stained it. I even got a desk chair. Yea for me!!!

Mohawk boy

He's pulling up and standing!

It's official! Ryland can pull himself up and stand. He stands in his bed all the time now. He did it for the first time yesterday. I was putting clothes away and I turn to look at him in his bed and he's standing there looking back. He looked at me and said "hi". He is so proud of himself.

He is starting to sleep better through the night now and he acts like he's feeling better too. I'm so glad.

His first cold

Ryland has his first cold. We've been blessed that he has never been sick in the first 8 months of his life. He has been acting ok during the day but at night, he gets so congested and he tosses and turns all night. When he rolls over, he wakes up enough to sit up and cry until I go in and lay him back down and he goes back to sleep for about 45 mins to an hour and then he's sitting back up crying again. I am not used to getting up this much during the night. Ryland started sleeping during the night at 9 weeks old so I have been spoiled. I hope he feels better soon...

What's new with Ryland

Ryland is crawling everywhere. He is so fast too! He doesn't like playing with his toys as much as he likes the door stop and slapping the hardwood floors with his hands. He loves being mobile. He is quite the little mama's boy. Whenever he is playing with James, he has to be watching me. It's so funny. It's like he's thinking "Hey mom, look at me playing, look at me laughing, look at me pulling daddy's hair, ears, nose and face!"

He gets so many comments about his red hair. People are always asking where he gets it from. He has the red hair and blue eyes and we have brown hair and green/hazel eyes.

At church, he has been promoted to the Crawlers class. I'm not ready for that! He's still a baby to me. He hasn't been too happy the last several times in nursery so maybe a different room and being able to crawl around will make him happy.

8 Month Pictures...a little early

Ryland turns 8 months old on August 15th. I was feeling "inspired" today, so I decided to go ahead with his 8 month pics a little early. He is so used to the camera and such a ham. He is babbling all the time and it sounded like he said "Roger" today. It was so funny....of course, he would say Roger before Mama.

Updates....

Let's see...the last time I posted, Ryland was just learning to scoot/crawl. Now, he can go anywhere he wants, even though he chooses to look like an inch worm on the floor. He says 'da da da', 'bye-bye-bye', 'hey', and 'hey dare'. He can go from lying down to sitting up and has found the door stop and loves to make noises with it.

He is definitely a mama's boy and I love it, I must confess. Everytime he sees me, he lights up and he doesn't like it when I leave the room. He wants to play all the time.

He loves to hug on James and play rough. It's so sweet to see him squeeze James's neck when he hugs him.

Oh, and one more thing....Roger is still Ryland's best buddy!
