Finally... we finished filling up the pool today. It looks alot better now that the ground is more level. I hope Ryland enjoys it!

A simple little pool??
Well, we are still waiting on the pool. Turns out, the pool was way off of being level so we had to finish the wall all the way around the pool and add more dirt to make the ground level. Our lesson learned? Do it right the first time, don't try to do it 1/2 way.
Ryland has learned to roll over from his back to his tummy. Now he can roll both ways! That's good and bad. Good, because he's learning so much and right on track with what he should be doing. Bad, because I can't lay him on his back and know that he won't move.

A Way to Cool Off
We are putting in a small pool this week. I thought it would be a one day installation, but it looks like it will be a week installation. James has been working diligently to get a retention wall up and we're using a friend's tractor to level the ground.
I thought I'd take some pics of Ryland and James on the tractor. Ryland is all boy because he couldn't wait to get his hands on the steering wheel. How do they know how to do this so young? His personality is so fun to watch develop. He has found his feet and loves to eat his baby food. I gave him 'chicken' baby food this past week and it was the nastiest smelling food. It made me nauseous! He didn't seem to like it that much either. It will be a good while before we try that again.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. This was my first Mother's Day with Ryland and it's very special. For the past 5 years, I have had a hard time with this day because of the loss of our first baby, Avery. I am so thankful God has given us Ryland, our miracle baby. My heart is still with those women who long to be mothers. May God never let me forget and take for granted the blessing He's given us.

Another Yard Sale??
We are planning on having another yard sale this weekend. There is a 30% chance of rain. Do I really want to do this again? Last weekend, I barely made any money. Maybe we will get a new group of yard salers this weekend. Oh well, we are watching the weather report this week to decide if we are definitely going to do this.
Ryland is learning to scoot now. When he sees something he wants, he buries his face in the activity mat or his bed and he pushes off with his feet. It's amazing how they learn to move around. We got him a bicycle trailer so James and I can ride bikes when we go camping. I think it will be very nice. He is so little in it right now, but it won't be long before he fits.

Wet, Rainy Yardsale
Well, we had our yard sale. It rained on and off the entire time. I know we need the rain, but I was hoping it would have held off. Oh well.... so much for wishful thinking. A couple of my friends sold a lot and made some money. I, on the other hand, apparently don't have the stuff that people are looking for. I didn't do so well. It's amazing the way people try to talk you down on prices that are already way too low. Can you tell I'm not a yard sale person?
Anyway, Ryland stayed with us while James and some friends went to play paintball. He was so good.
James and his friends had a good time playing paintball, even though he pull a muscle in his leg. Hopefully, he'll be better before his golf tournament on Friday!

Yard Sale Time
We are having a yard sale this Saturday at my friend's house. We took all our of "stuff" over last night. It will be 4 families and I am wishing that we sell all of our trash and treasures. We have a garage full! The forecast is calling for rain...I am praying that it will wait until the yard sale is over!
Ryland has learned how to squeal and scream. He squeals/screams pretty much all day, smiling the entire time. I think he is proud of himself. The other day, I was on the computer and when I looked up to check on him, he had tried to sit up in his swing and was leaning way off to the side. It looked like he could have fallen out, if it weren't for him being strapped in. Needless to say, I immediately went to tighten the straps up a little more (after taking a quick picture, of course).
This picture was taken after I stopped the swing. It looked more dramatic before I stopped it.

Ryland loves baby food!
Ryland has been eating baby food for 3 weeks now. He loves squash, sweet potatoes and peas. He tried the peas yesterday and seems to like them.
Welcome to our blog
Hello family and friends!
A friend of mine (thanks Abbie!) emailed me her blog page and since then, I have been able to keep up with her through this new invention. (new to me anyway) I thought this would be a great way to let you all know what's going on in the lives of the Hyder's.
I will try to post several times a week. Of course, there will be tons of pictures of Ryland!
Hope you all enjoy!
